Orbis Internal Audit is formed of five teams: three local authority-based; and two partnership teams delivering ICT audit and counter-fraud specific work across all partners and customers.  We currently provide audit services to Horsham District Council, South Downs National Park, East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service and Elmbridge Borough Council.

Our work is highly respected and we have a reputation for bringing a ‘national perspective’ to our work.  We invest heavily in developing our own staff and service to ensure the service we provide to our clients continues to be best in class.

We are looking for a self motivated person to join our vibrant, forward thinking team as a Prinicpal Auditor based at either Brighton and Hove City Council or East Sussex County Council.

Your experience of undertaking audits will be matched with a strong knowledge of professional internal audit standards.  You will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and be able to present complex information to a wide range of stakeholders.

You will be qualified as an accountant or auditor and/or able to demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge through experience.

What will you be doing?

You will deliver high quality, independent and objective audit and assurance activities across a wide variety of services, for a number of different client organisations. You will lead other audit staff in delivering this work as well as supporting Audit Managers in carrying out risk assessments and producing audit plans.

As well as delivering individual audits, you will work with senior management and operational staff to develop and maintain effective working relations and you will support new developments and major change programmes by providing clear and constructive advice on risk, governance and internal control matters.

Your ability to effectively engage and influence in a constructive manner will therefore be essential, demonstrating the value of a modern and effective internal audit service.
